Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Mlinjo Creative Labs handles information when you use the uVid mobile application.

Effective date: October 10, 2026  ·  Last updated: October 10, 2026

In brief: uVid processes the public media links you submit so it can show media details and prepare a download. We keep limited request records on our server for service operation and security. Media files are downloaded to or processed on your device; our backend does not store the media files.

1. Who we are

uVid is a mobile application published by Mlinjo Creative Labs (“Mlinjo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We are responsible for the information described in this Policy when we determine why and how it is processed.

The app helps you analyze links to publicly accessible media, prepare downloads, organize media on your device, and use local media tools. You are responsible for ensuring that you have permission to access, download, and use any media you submit. Do not use uVid to access private accounts, bypass access controls, or download material you are not authorized to use.

2. Information we handle

Links and download requests

When you ask uVid to analyze or prepare a download, the app sends the submitted media URL to our backend. A download request also includes the format identifier you selected. URLs can contain information in their path or query parameters, so only submit links you are comfortable sharing with the service. Avoid links containing passwords, private access tokens, or other confidential information.

App and request metadata

Requests from the app to our API include the RevenueCat App User ID supplied by the RevenueCat SDK, the device platform (Android or iOS), and the app version. The RevenueCat ID is generally an SDK-generated pseudonymous identifier; it is not your name or email address unless you separately provide identifying information to a third party.

For analysis and download-preparation requests, our backend records information such as the submitted URL, source domain, selected format where applicable, the media details returned after a successful analysis, request time, IP address, user-agent, platform, app version, RevenueCat App User ID, response status, processing time, and error code. We do not add the configuration endpoint to this request history.

Information from the media source

To analyze a link, our backend may request information from the source, such as a title, thumbnail address, duration, available formats, resolution, or estimated file size. The details available depend on the source and link. We may temporarily cache analysis results to make repeat requests faster; the default cache period is 10 minutes and may be configured differently.

Support messages

If you email us, we receive the email address and any information, screenshots, or diagnostic details you choose to include. Please do not send payment card information, passwords, or private media links in a support email.

3. Information kept on your device

uVid stores app preferences and library information locally. This may include your chosen language, download preferences, collection names, media titles, file locations, file sizes, timestamps, source links saved with library items, and task history. Downloaded media and files you select for media tools remain on your device unless you choose to share or export them through another app or service.

Files placed in the Vault are encrypted on your device using AES-256-GCM. The encryption key is stored using the device’s secure-storage facilities. Other downloads and library files are not necessarily encrypted by uVid. Deleting an item in the app or uninstalling the app may remove local app data; files exported to a system photo library or another location may need to be deleted separately.

Media editing, conversion, and similar tools run on your device. The app requests operating-system permissions when a feature needs them, such as notifications or access to save media. You can manage permissions in your device settings.

4. How we use information

We use information for the following purposes:

  • Analyze submitted links, show available media details, and prepare a download URL.
  • Operate, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the app and backend.
  • Apply usage limits, identify abuse, and diagnose failed or slow requests.
  • Check subscription entitlements and process purchases or restores through RevenueCat and the relevant app store.
  • Show and measure advertisements on supported app versions and platforms.
  • Respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, processing may be based on providing the features you request, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, your consent where required (including for certain advertising or permissions), or compliance with legal obligations.

5. When information is shared

We do not sell your media files. We share or make information available only as needed to operate the app, including with these recipients:

  • Our API and infrastructure providers: They host or support the backend, database, cache, and request logs. Authorized operators may access request records for service, security, or support purposes.
  • Media platforms and content delivery networks: The source platform may be contacted to analyze a link. After a download URL is prepared, the media is generally transferred from the source or its CDN directly to your device. Those services may receive connection information such as an IP address.
  • Google Mobile Ads: On supported Android versions, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may receive information needed to deliver, measure, and protect advertising, such as IP address, device or advertising identifiers, app/device information, diagnostics, and ad interactions. Depending on settings, consent signals, and applicable law, this may include personalized advertising. See How Google uses information from apps that use its services and Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • RevenueCat and app stores: RevenueCat processes subscription and purchase information to help us check entitlements. Apple App Store or Google Play processes payments and may provide transaction or receipt information to RevenueCat. We do not receive your full payment-card number through the app. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy, Apple’s Privacy Policy, and Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • Authorities or successors: We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or complete a business transfer, subject to applicable law.

We do not send the media file itself to our backend for storage. The backend processes links and media information; downloads are transferred to your device from the source or CDN.

6. Advertising

The app may display ads on supported Android versions. Ad requests are handled by Google Mobile Ads and its advertising partners. These parties may use device identifiers, network information, and ad interactions to serve, limit, measure, and protect ads. Whether ads are personalized can depend on your location, device or account settings, consent choices, and applicable requirements. You can also review advertising and privacy controls in your device settings and Google account.

Purchasing Pro may remove or reduce ads as described in the app. Google’s handling of advertising data is governed by Google’s own policies and settings.

7. Purchases and subscriptions

uVid uses RevenueCat to configure the purchase SDK, obtain its App User ID, check subscription status, and support purchases and restores. The SDK may process technical information, purchase or transaction records, receipts or purchase tokens, and subscription entitlement data. RevenueCat may receive an anonymous App User ID generated by its SDK. Apple or Google handles payment details through the store where you obtained the app.

To manage or cancel a subscription, use the subscription settings for the Apple App Store or Google Play account used for the purchase. RevenueCat’s privacy practices are described in its Privacy Policy.

8. Retention

Analysis and download-preparation request logs are automatically deleted according to our server retention setting. That setting is 90 days by default and may be configured differently for a deployment. Temporary analysis cache entries expire according to their configured cache period (10 minutes by default). We may retain support correspondence for as long as needed to handle the request, keep appropriate business records, or meet legal obligations.

Information stored only on your device generally remains until you delete it, clear app data, or uninstall the app. RevenueCat, Apple, Google, media platforms, and other third parties retain information according to their own policies and settings.

9. Your choices and privacy rights

You can choose which links to submit, manage app permissions in your device settings, delete local library items, and manage subscriptions through the applicable app store. You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information held in our request logs, or object to or restrict certain processing, by contacting us. We may need to verify your request and may keep information where the law permits or requires it.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as data portability or the right to complain to a data protection authority. We will consider and respond to requests as required by applicable law. Because uVid does not require a separate account, please include enough information for us to locate the relevant request without sending passwords or payment details.

For advertising choices, use the privacy controls available from Google, your device, or your app store account. Choices made with a third party may not control information that the same third party already holds under its own policy.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information we handle, including access controls for backend administration. The Vault encrypts Vault files on your device as described above. No app, device, network, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

11. International processing

We and our service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we will use an appropriate transfer mechanism.

12. Children’s privacy

uVid is a general-purpose utility and is not designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will review the request and take appropriate steps. A parent or guardian should contact us on the child’s behalf.

13. Third-party services and links

The app interacts with media sources, app stores, advertising services, RevenueCat, and other providers described in this Policy. When you use those services, their own privacy policies and terms apply. We do not control how an independent platform processes information after it receives it.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy as the app, our service providers, or legal requirements change. We will update the “Last updated” date above when we publish a revision. If a change materially affects how information is handled, we will provide additional notice in the app or through another appropriate channel where required.
